The Memorial Fountain System consists of a central water system with the flow beginning with the water cascading over the continuous weir, which is punctuated by the eight polished black granite markers. The water then feeds into the Sacrifice and Courage pools as well as the Defender Fountain. The Defender Fountain is a feeder into the main fountain, The Freedom Fountain. The small white headstones in the Defender Fountain are replicas of those in Arlington National Cemetery and represent all of our fallen warriors who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. The Freedom Fountain in the central fountain with pulsating streams of water rising above the Memorial, reminding us that this is a living tribute to all veterans and gives the sense of life, liberty and freedom springing forth from a grateful community and nation.
